3W Tuned Canister Mufflers
When I test flew the aircraft with these mufflers
I did notice a
definite decrease in engine noise, with an increase in power !!!
I did not have a dB meter at that time but it was defiantly quieter than
the twin stack Johnson canister mufflers that were previously installed.

Front view of the 3W Tuned Canister Muffler installation

Side views of the installation, this installation is much different
than a monoplaes installation,
in that the mufflers will rest just above the bottom wing, and just below the radio/fuel
tank area. Good air flow is a must to keep the heat migration from damaging components.

Top views of the installation, for a large aircraft the area for
the mufflers is small,
but with the proper ducting cooling can be completed. The mufflers are resting on lite ply
rails,
protected by surgical tubing, and held in place by surgical tubing wraped around
the mufflers and the rails. One of the top covers is left off for viewing purposes.

Underside view, to protect the bottom wing from the heat of the
mufflers there
is a 1/64" plywood shield that will cover the bottom of the pipe area.
This will generate the bottom of the muffler cooling duct.
